Before/after people pay member dues we need to make sure they have a Discord account linked to their Club Manager account and prompt users to do so if they haven't already. This was a little bit of a pain point for me yesterday since a lot of people paid member dues through the link on the Discord announcement, not through the /pay Discord command which won't provide the payment link if a user hasn't run /link yet.
On the note of the /link Discord command, It seems that some people found it a little confusing and that they had to run /pay after linking. So it would be great if we could just redirect straight to the payment page after a user links their Club Manager account to Discord. Whenever we send out the linking email we could probably throw a query parameter into the link that has a route we want to redirect to after a user has paid.
Since paying member dues through the site does not require linking of a Discord account, it should probably be a notice on the page afterwards to do
/linkin the server. Alternatively, we can implement a Discord login feature where they can just authenticate with their Discord account on the website to link their accounts.Technically, a user could want to
/linkwithout paying member dues for the semester. It might make more sense to have/payrun/linkautomatically if the user has not linked yet, and then have the query parameter redirect only for the/payusage of/link(and not for the regular/link). However, this would require/payto accept a NetID somehow, probably as a slash command parameter (or maybe as a Discord pop-up modal?).Something else I want to add is an account creation page redirect if their account does not exist (either when doing
/linkor when going to the payment link directly).
