#106
Feature proposal: Cloud Studio (browser-local object storage and function runtime)
Summary
Proposal to add Cloud Studio under src/cloud-studio/ — a browser-focused open-source cloud-management workspace with real local services, not a cosmetic AWS console clone.
Motivation
Everything already covers many productivity and creative apps, but has no first-party cloud-service studio for object storage, simple serverless functions, and a management UI wired to real operations.
Initial scope (v0)
- Object storage (S3-inspired semantics, not full AWS compatibility):
- Buckets and objects
- Upload / download / delete / list
- Metadata and content types
- Local persistence (IndexedDB / OPFS)
- Simple access keys and permission checks
- Management console where every control maps to a tested service call
- Experimental function runtime (isolated, timeouts, logs) as a follow-on increment in the same app directory
Non-goals for v0
- Claiming full AWS API compatibility
- Billable cloud provisioning
- Copying AWS Console branding or assets
- Running untrusted workloads on public infrastructure
Licensing
MIT to match the repository root, unless maintainers prefer otherwise.
An implementation PR for object storage + console will follow this issue.
Implementation in https://github.com/HeyPuter/everything/pull/107 (Cloud Studio: IndexedDB object storage + functions console).
