Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Inspecting a long recording provides the flame graph for the "whole" time making it hard to grasp costs distributed over time. That is especially useful for recordings with lots of threads as they may "lock" each other. The different display type can also help to see usage patterns.
Describe the solution you'd like Provide an additional flame scope window along with the option to filtering a range.
Describe alternatives you've considered The timeline shows nicely the "heat" over time, hovering over an element in timeline while in flame graph window also shows the main "flames" on that time and vice-versa - but that's hard to grasp correctly. I just recognized that I can not only zoom but also filter on a selection in the timeline, which is already very useful and something that could be "graphically" possible in flame scope view as well. Still the different visualization can help.
