vphone 2.2.2
The host sees the UDID you set
- Device ▸ Set UDID… (vphoned
udid.set) now changes the UDID the host sees, not only the one the guest's profile check uses.idevice_id, lockdown (ideviceinfo) and the RemoteServiceDiscovery handshake all report the configured UDID, so Xcode signs for a device your team already registered. - It applies straight away, with no reboot, and again on every boot. Reset UDID puts all three back to the guest's own.
- A new UDID looks like a new device to the host, so the guest asks you to trust the computer again. Switching back asks again too.
- Nothing in the kernel or the shared cache is edited. The guest environment inserts
libmisfix.dylibinto lockdownd and remoted, and vphoned sets the USB serial number.
Host location sync works
- Sync Host Location now asks macOS for permission and sends the Mac's location to the guest. vphone-vm reads it through a small helper app,
VPhoneLocation.app, because macOS does not prompt a process inside a plain bundle. The prompt text is localized. - A Mac location fix with no altitude is accepted now (icli 0.7.7). Before, every update was rejected.
Known issues
xcrun devicectlstill times out on a VM, including the pairing CoreDevice keeps from before a UDID change. Useideviceinstaller -u <UDID> install <ipa>to install.
