vphone 2.4.0
Core Bundle
- App extensions of an app installed with
apps.installor Apps > Install App Package… are registered, so a packet tunnel provider, share extension, widget or keyboard launches as it does after an installd install.vphonedregistered each plug-in at its path in the temporary copy of the IPA, which is gone once the install finishes, and on iOS 27 dropped them altogether, so a VPN app's tunnel failed withNEAgentErrorDomain Code=2and no process. Theapps.installresult now listspluginsand anyunregistered_plugins. Fixed in icli 0.7.12 and 0.7.13. (#546) display.rotationanddisplay.rotation_lockwork on iOS 27 guests. SpringBoard there refuses rotate and orientation-lock requests withoutcom.apple.accessibility.physicalinteraction.client, whichvphonednow carries (icli 0.7.14).- Guest network settings, kept in the machine's
config.plistand edited withvm configor Launchpad's Settings: a fixed MAC (--mac), a fixed IPv4 address (--ip,--gateway,--dns), port forwards (--forward [tcp|udp:][addr:]host:guest) in nat and tunnel, and the guest's mDNS name (--mdns).vm network --link up|downunplugs a running VM's cable. Settings apply from the next launch. (#550) - The Mac's
.localname resolves in the guest at once, including right after boot; lookups no longer race the USB link's empty answer or time out on a 169.254 address. (#549) - With Auto-Lock set to Never, the Lock Screen stays lit too, from the next boot or respring. (#550)
- Device > Use Hardware Keyboard turns the Mac keyboard off or on for each VM, applied on restart. (#548)
- The VM's name is drawn on its Dock tile, the app menu says Quit VPhone and shows the build's version, number and commit, and installing the bootstrap on a guest that has one says where it is and offers to uninstall it. (#551)
vphonedstays bounded over days of IcliKit calls: screen captures no longer leak a display-sized image (icli 0.7.11).- The guest's
vphonedupdates itself the next time each machine starts.
Launchpad
- A machine's Settings edit its network: MAC, IPv4 (DHCP or a fixed address), port forwards, the mDNS name and the Mac's name in the guest. (#550)
- New Machine stays in a compact toolbar capsule on macOS 26. (#551)
Upgrading
Launchpad 2.4.0 needs VPhone.bundle 2.4.x: its network settings use options of vm config that 2.3 bundles do not have. Download the notarized vphone-launchpad-2.4.0-notarized.zip, then install VPhone.bundle 2.4.0 from Core Bundle. The vphone-launchpad-2.4.0.zip built by CI is unsigned.
