[Linux/CachyOS] WebRTC disabled in build — HTTP 503 when starting browser streaming
I'm running Vibepollo on CachyOS and attempting to stream my desktop directly through a web browser using WebRTC.
The Vibepollo web interface is accessible, and the streaming host starts successfully. However, starting a WebRTC session consistently returns HTTP 503.
Error
Connection Failed
Failed to create WebRTC session (HTTP 503):
{"error":"WebRTC support is disabled in this build"}Environment
- OS: CachyOS
- Desktop: KDE Plasma
- Vibepollo: 2.0.1
- Installation: Native Linux package
- Web interface: HTTPS, port 47990
- Hardware acceleration: VAAPI
Relevant logs
Active: active (running)
Status: "Vibepollo generation 2 is listening with H.264, HEVC encoders"
Found H.264 encoder: h264_vaapi [vaapi]
Found HEVC encoder: hevc_vaapi [vaapi]Steps to reproduce
- Start Vibepollo on CachyOS.
- Open the web interface on port 47990.
- Navigate to browser/WebRTC streaming.
- Attempt to stream the desktop.
- Receive HTTP 503.
Expected behavior
Desktop streaming works directly in a supported web browser using WebRTC and hardware-accelerated video encoding.
Actual behavior
The server refuses to create the WebRTC session because support is disabled in the installed build.
Questions
- Is WebRTC intentionally disabled in the official Linux/CachyOS packages?
- Is there a build option or package variant that enables WebRTC?
- Is browser-based streaming planned for an upcoming Linux release?
Also, is clipboard functionality supported on this?
Thanks!
