[Feature Request] Ubuntu 26.04 LTS support for Vibepollo Linux host (GNOME/Intel headless)
I'd like to run Vibepollo as a Moonlight host on an existing Ubuntu server rather than replace the OS or desktop just for game streaming.
My setup
- Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, GNOME/Wayland
- Intel Core i5-1135G7 with Iris Xe graphics (VA-API encoding works)
- Headless laptop (internal display is broken)
- Already running Plex and remote administration services
- Intended use: launch ES-DE/RetroArch and stream retro games to Moonlight clients, ideally using a true virtual display without an HDMI dummy plug
The current Linux installation guide supports Arch/CachyOS with KDE Plasma Wayland, but not Ubuntu/Debian packaging or GNOME sessions.
Would you consider supporting:
- Ubuntu LTS with a native
.debpackage or a documented, supported installation/build path? - GNOME Wayland sessions, or a supported headless session that doesn't require switching the machine to KDE?
- Intel GPU virtual-display streaming after login (and eventually unattended startup, if feasible)?
I realize distribution packaging, compositor integration, and Intel pre-login support are separate issues. Even just a roadmap or clarification of which parts are practical would be helpful.
I saw the older Ubuntu-based request in #196, but that was before the Linux host was released, so I'm asking specifically about expanding the existing Linux beta.
Thanks for considering it.
