v1.4.0
Chat redesign
The chat panel has been rebuilt for sidebar width, a welcome screen with the binary's details and starting suggestions, a header chat switcher, and an inline composer. Colours and fonts now come from the host palette, so it matches IDA and Binary Ninja instead of looking pasted in. IDA's light theme in particular was unreadable before; text, icons and the script-approval preview all follow the host theme now.
Chats are organised by binary
Each file is a folder in the chat list. The binary you're working in stays open, the rest fold away with a count, and search reaches into folded folders. Reopening a binary lands on the chat you were last working in rather than the most recently created one, previously it was easy to start typing into a chat belonging to a different binary.
Chat fixes
- Every healthy turn showed a red "Error"
- Assistant output rendered blank, or appeared and then vanished
- Long answers grew a blank band that got worse with each block; restored chats opened with a large gap
- The view didn't follow the stream, and the panel froze during tool calls, Binary Ninja read-only tools now run off the UI thread
Binary Ninja's MCP server
Rikugan detects Binary Ninja's own MCP server, asks once per binary, and hands its tools to the agent. It's one tool set or the other: Rikugan's own tools stand down while it's in use, and the toggle says so, including that you lose patching, scripting and /undo tracking while it's on.
Other
- IDA installer no longer mistakes the macOS Python framework dylib for the interpreter — it was silently installing dependencies into an interpreter IDA doesn't load
- Claude 5 models had no entry in the limits table and fell back to 200K context / 8192 output instead of 1M / 128K, so conversations were compacted early and long answers truncated
