Update workspace button keeps spinning if Git username/email isn't set

I noticed that the update workspace button keeps showing its spinning animation if the Git username or email aren't set. It would be more helpful if there were a more appropriate message shown for why the project cannot be currently updated. As it is, the spinning makes it seems like something is loading.
