#2789
[Bug]: Standard paste (Cmd+V) targets underlying webpage input instead of Lumno extension overlay
Operating system
macOS
Version
0.20.1.1
Have you tested that this is not an upstream issue or an issue with your configuration?
- I have tried reproducing this issue in Chrome and it could not be reproduced there
- I have tried reproducing this issue in ungoogled-chromium and it could not be reproduced there
- I have tried reproducing this issue in Helium with a new and empty profile using
--user-data-dircommand line argument and it could not be reproduced there
Description
When using the [Lumno](https://github.com/kubai087/lumno-extension) command bar in Helium, the standard paste shortcut (Cmd+V) incorrectly pastes into the underlying webpage's text field instead of Lumno's input.
Crash ID
No response
How to Reproduce?
- Open ChatGPT in Helium.
- Focus the ChatGPT message editor.
- Invoke the Lumno command bar.
- Type into Lumno to confirm it receives keyboard input.
- Press
Cmd+V.
Actual behavior
Clipboard contents are pasted into ChatGPT's message editor behind Lumno.
Expected behavior
Clipboard contents should be pasted into Lumno's focused input.
Additional context
- Normal typing works within Lumno.
Cmd+A, X, Cworks within Lumno.- Clicking directly inside Lumno's input does not resolve the issue.
- Helium's Force Paste command successfully pastes into Lumno.
- So far, the issue has only been observed with ChatGPT's message editor, not other webpage inputs (i.e., Github)
There may be an interaction between Helium's native paste-command dispatch, Lumno's overlay, and ChatGPT's rich-text editor. Standard paste may be targeting the underlying editor despite keyboard input being directed to Lumno.
Environment:
- Browser: Helium
- Operating system: macOS
- Extension: Lumno
- Affected website: chatgpt.com
