At the moment, it's only possible to view individual student progress. Instructors may want to monitor the "group progress", too. Example:

Suggestion: Trainee Coordination & Live Help System

Instructors often need to assist trainees in real-time, especially when someone gets stuck. Here’s a proposed feature to streamline coordination and provide timely support.

Goal:

Enable instructors to send help notifications, and if the trainee agrees, open a shared terminal to provide direct assistance.

Proposed Workflow:

  • Instructor selects a trainee from the dashboard (if they have an active session).
  • Send a help request:
    • Notification appears on trainee’s screen:

Your instructor wants to help you via terminal. Accept?”

  • If accepted:
    • Open a shared terminal session (e.g., using tmux, ttyd, or a WebSocket-based shell).
    • Optionally, allow read/write or read-only modes for the instructor.
  • Send prepared hints or tips (before or during the session):
    • Display in a side panel or directly in the terminal as comments.

Prepared Hints Example:

Hint: Check if the pod is running with `kubectl get pods -A`
Hint: Look at the logs: `kubectl logs <pod-name>`
Hint: You might be missing a service or port-forward rule.

Benefits:

  • Real-time collaboration without breaking the flow.
  • Lowers support friction for instructors and students.
  • Encourages learning by guided interaction, not just observation.
