#4372

Firefox allocated VRAM not being freed once window is closed

Openkianblakleyopened 3mo ago

Each firefox instance adds ~70mb to Niri's VRAM usage and is not freed upon close.

Issue is present on both flatpak and non flatpak versions.

Have confirmed that firefox is running using wayland backend.

Issue doesn't seem to occur with any other app.

Have applied the NVIDIA fix listed in the docs (https://niri-wm.github.io/niri/Nvidia.html) to no avail.

Niri version: 26.04 Disrtro: Fedora 44 GPU: Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB CPU: Intel 270K Plus

Not replicateable in sway. VRAM usage climbs to about ~400mb with 10+ instances and is cleared once the windows are closed
