aarch64: Top bar missing after Qt 6.12 upgrade (Color singleton shadowed), and omarchy update fails with "target not found: hyprtoolkit"

Openroblen45opened 1d ago

System

  • Apple MacBook Pro (16-inch, M1 Pro, 2021), aarch64 (Asahi / Arch Linux ARM)
  • Omarchy 4.0.2-2 (from omarchy-aarch64)
  • quickshell 0.3.2-1, qt6-base 6.12.0-3, qt6-declarative 6.12.0-1

Problem 1: Top bar is gone after Qt 6.12 upgrade

After a regular system upgrade (qt6-base/qt6-declarative 6.11.2 → 6.12.0, quickshell 0.3.1 → 0.3.2), the top bar no longer renders. The shell process is running; omarchy toggle bar on, omarchy restart shell and omarchy theme refresh don't help.

The shell log shows that the Color singleton from qs.Commons is shadowed by Qt's built-in Color (QQuickColor) in Qt 6.12, so all theme colors are undefined:

WARN scene: @shell.qml[884:-1]: TypeError: Property 'loadColors' of object QQuickColor(0xffff41411eb0) is not a function
WARN scene: @plugins/bar/Bar.qml[72:-1]: TypeError: Cannot read property 'active' of undefined
WARN scene: @plugins/bar/Bar.qml[66:3]: Unable to assign [undefined] to QColor
WARN scene: @Ui/Button.qml[57:-1]: TypeError: Cannot read property 'background' of undefined

4.5.0rc1 in the edge repo already qualifies the call (Commons.Color.loadColors(...)), so this appears fixed on edge, but no fixed version is available in omarchy-aarch64 yet, while Qt 6.12 has already landed in ALARM.

Expected: The bar renders with Qt 6.12, or the stable aarch64 channel gets the fix.

Problem 2: omarchy update fails on aarch64

omarchy-update-system-pkgs passes the targets from omarchy_arm_package_targets (omarchy/hyprland omarchy/hyprtoolkit omarchy/hyprland-guiutils) to pacman -Syu, but the [omarchy] edge repo no longer contains hyprtoolkit or hyprland-guiutils (they are in extra now):

warning: hyprland-0.56.2-7 is up to date -- reinstalling
error: target not found: hyprtoolkit
error: target not found: hyprland-guiutils

Something went wrong during the update!

Additionally, 4.5.0rc1 from the edge repo can't be installed on aarch64 because its dependency omarchy-security-functions is not available in any configured repo.

Expected: omarchy update completes on aarch64.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Omarchy 4.0.2 on aarch64 (Asahi)
  2. Upgrade to qt6-base/qt6-declarative 6.12.0 and quickshell 0.3.2 → bar disappears
  3. Run omarchy update → fails with "target not found"
