Prompt input becomes unreadable after switching appearance modes

What issue are you seeing?

After changing the appearance mode in Codex, the prompt input has a light background with extremely faint text. The “Ask Codex to do anything” placeholder becomes almost invisible, while the surrounding interface remains dark.

Actual behavior

The prompt input displays mismatched colors, making its text difficult to read. See the attached screenshot.

Please also verify switching modes while a conversation is open and when following the system appearance setting.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Open Codex.
2. Switch between light and dark appearance modes.
3. Check the prompt input’s background and text contrast.

What is the expected behavior?

The input background, placeholder, typed text, and cursor should update together to maintain readable contrast in the selected appearance mode.
