First public open-source release of Cairn.
Cairn is a general-purpose problem-solving engine built around explicit state-space search. It was first validated on autonomous penetration testing and CTF-style tasks, but the underlying architecture is designed for broader goal-directed problem solving.
Highlights
- Explicit fact-intent graph for modeling progress through an unknown state space
- Blackboard-based coordination model with shared, objective state
- Three-task execution loop: Bootstrap, Reason, and Explore
- Docker-based dispatcher with per-project worker containers
- Interactive server UI for inspecting projects, facts, intents, and hints
Included in this release
- Initial public release of the Cairn server and dispatcher
- Default prompts and worker execution flow
- Current project protocol and documentation
- Public README, demo media, and setup instructions
Notes
- This is the initial OSS release of Cairn and the project is still evolving quickly
- Interfaces, prompts, and runtime behavior may change across early versions
- Cairn can support penetration testing, security assessment, and vulnerability research, but should only be used in explicitly authorized environments
