README says "public domain" but LICENSE.md is GPL-3.0 - which one applies?
The README's License section says:
This project is released into the public domain. See the LICENSE file for details.
But LICENSE.md in the repo root contains the full text of the GNU GPL v3.0,
and GitHub's license detection also reports GPL-3.0. The iOS repo
(permissionlesstech/bitchat) uses the Unlicense (public domain).
These conflict. Could you clarify which license actually applies to bitchat-android?
- If public domain is intended: replace
LICENSE.mdwith the Unlicense text (same as the iOS repo). - If GPL-3.0 is intended: update the README to say so.
Context: I'd like to use the Bluetooth mesh code in my own app, and whether that's allowed in a non-GPL app depends entirely on the answer. Thanks!
