[Bug] Crash on Mesh → Verify → Scan QR; geochat People list doesn't show users despite correct header counter (2.0.3)

0. Preface

Noticed the app was updated twice without a corresponding GitHub release — the releases only appeared after being flagged on Twitter/X. (Although, it might just be a coincidence) Appreciate that the fixes did land, though it would help a lot of downstream users (and anyone trying to track changes/report against a specific build) if releases were published closer to when the APKs actually go out. Filing two reproducible bugs below, each with an attached video. Translation issues I'll handle separately myself (native speaker, will submit a PR/patch rather than describe them here).

1. Environment

App: BitChat Android 2.0.3 Device: Nord 5, Android 16, OxygenOS 16 Reinstalling the app does not resolve either issue below

2. Crash: Mesh → Verify → Scan QR

Steps to reproduce: Open the Mesh tab Open Verify (QR Code) Tap Scan Result: app crashes immediately. 100% reproducible on my device, survives reinstall. Video: https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/e3bcda77-3e0f-4ed2-b575-e6342564dd9b

Duplicate of #970: this looks like the same crash reported there (Verify → Scan QR, v2.0.1, GrapheneOS/Android 17, NullPointerException during Compose recomposition, possibly in CameraXViewfinder inside VerificationSheet.kt). I'm hitting it on a different device/OS combo (Nord 5, OxygenOS 16, Android 16) and a later build (2.0.3), which confirms it's not device- or OS-specific. Linking here in case the two should be merged, and in case my video adds anything useful alongside their stack trace.

3. Geochat People list doesn't show users despite correct header counter

Observed: The participant counter in the geochat header (the people icon next to the geohash) works correctly — the number goes up and down in real time, tracking actual presence on the relay. In the screenshot below: geohash #u0, my nickname in this chat is @nomadram, counter shows 330, and that number accurately reflects relay activity. The problem is in the People list itself, where user nicknames should be listed along with the option to send a private message. This list is empty or nearly empty, despite the header counter confirming the presence of several hundred people. So relay sync and presence counting appear to work fine (the header counter is a live, accurate indicator), but something breaks specifically in building/rendering the People list UI from those same presence events — users who are clearly present (and counted by the header) never make it into the list, and as a result can't be messaged privately.
