Geo channels currently stop when their nearest relays fail, and directory refreshes leave existing subscriptions on old targets.
- Publish and subscribe through five nearest relays plus five shared warm backups, so users stay reachable during partial outages.
- Queue geo messages even before the directory loads; migrate subscriptions and pending writes together on refresh, preserving identities and filters.
- Retry needed connections, detect silent sockets with pings, retain failed writes, and retire relays when their last owner disappears.
Validation: Swift app/package tests, performance gates, SwiftLint, unused-code checks, and 20 directory tooling tests passed. Simulator tests and release builds are running.
Tradeoff: up to five additional relay connections per geographic route; ten candidates maximum.
Companion: Android #1011.
