The biggest change in this release is support for the /opt/fil distribution, which allows you to install Fil-C and a collection of useful programs compiled with Fil-C in /opt/fil.
Other changes include:
- Add just enough Yolo FFI support to allow OpenSSL to use its constant time crypto implementations that are written in assembly.
- Fix C++ inline global variables.
- Add support for the
PR_SET_SECCOMPmode ofprctl(2)so that OpenSSH's seccomp sandbox works. - Make the compiler driver understand
/opt/fil. - Fix alignment issues involving by-val structs that contain SIMD vectors.
Guide to the available files:
filc-0.673-linux-x86_64.tar.xzis the traditional, self-contained "pizfix" distribution. It only includes the compiler, doesn't require root, and is based on the musl libc. This is recommended for quickly trying out Fil-C.optfil-0.673-linux-x86_64.tar.xzis the new/opt/fildistribution. It includes useful programs like OpenSSH client and server, is based on glibc 2.40, and requires root permissions. This is recommended for giving Fil-C deeper scrutiny.
