AppImage and Installer Script Terminated Due to Memory Shortage

  • Searched existing issues for similar problems
  • Checked the Known Issues page

Neither the AppImage nor the result of the Installer Script will launch Affinity at all. Before it does, I receive dozens of "Memory Shortage Avoided" notifications stating that they ended the process.

The Known Issues page has an entry for the AppImage version, however the linked issue is closed with comments that it should be re-opened.

Environment:

  • OS: CachyOS
  • Kernel: Linux 6.19.7
  • DE: KDE Plasma 6.6.3
  • WM: KWin (Wayland)
  • CPU: Intel i7-12700K
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
  • Memory: 64 GiB

Same issue Edit: Even after adding much more swap to my system up to 100 GiB combined, affinity still use all the memory avalable and crash

OS: Arch linux Kernel: Linux 6.19.9 DE: Gnome 49.5 WM: Mutter (Wayland) CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Memory: 32 GiB Swap: 16 GiB
