ChatGPT marketplace import rejects .agents/plugins/marketplace.json source URL './'

Openmichaleeeeeopened 10d ago

Problem

Importing obra/superpowers (main) as a GitHub-backed marketplace in ChatGPT Workspace Admin > Marketplaces reports one failed plugin entry:

Marketplace entry 'superpowers' has an invalid GitHub repository URL.

The source manifest is .agents/plugins/marketplace.json, currently containing:

{"name":"superpowers-dev","plugins":[{"name":"superpowers","source":{"source":"url","url":"./"}}]}

Reproduction

  1. In ChatGPT Workspace Admin, add marketplace from https://github.com/obra/superpowers, branch main, manifest path .agents/plugins/marketplace.json.
  2. Run marketplace sync.
  3. Observe: 0 imported plugins, 1 failed (superpowers) with the URL validation message above.

Expected

An officially supported GitHub marketplace import should resolve the plugin source successfully, or the repository should publish a ChatGPT-compatible absolute GitHub URL in the manifest.

Actual

A relative url: "./" is rejected by the ChatGPT import validator; existing separately installed Superpowers may still be enabled, but this marketplace fails to sync.

Request

Please consider providing a ChatGPT-compatible marketplace source URL (or documenting an alternate supported manifest/import path), while preserving compatibility with other hosts. This report concerns ChatGPT marketplace import, not necessarily Claude Code/Codex behavior.
