So the context is that I'm currently migrating from Notion to AFFiNE. On Notion I had my pages divided in several workspaces. Here in AFFiNE I have created just one workspace where I wanted to organise everything from Notion. I have created one "Collection" for each workspace I had on Notion.
I miss the option to import all my Notion pages already inside of an AFFiNE collection. However, the missing feature I consider more important is being able to move all imported pages into a Collection. AFFiNE lets you select all documents, but it won't give you any option that deleting.
If I go to the empty Collection it gives the option to add documents, but it won't give you the option to select all of them, just one by one. Of course you can create Rules or Filters in AFFiNE to get all documents inside of a Collection, but I don't want to keep permanently the rule. If I delete the rule after this one moved all documents inside the Collection, the documents will be out of the collection again.
Use case
Being able to select all documents and moving them into a Collection with a few clicks instead of checking each document one by one would be great for migrations and document organization.

munishmehra374-ctrl5d agoHi! I’d like to work on this. As I understand it, selecting many docs in All Docs only offers delete, and there’s no bulk way to add docs to a collection. I’m thinking of adding an “Add to collection” action for the selected docs. Alternatively, a “Select all” option in the collection’s add-documents dialog could work.
Could a maintainer confirm that this is something you’d accept, and which approach you prefer? I’ll set up the project and share an update within a week.
munishmehra374-ctrl3d agoUpdate: I reproduced both points on an unmodified local build based on canary.
- In All docs, selecting several docs only shows clear and delete. There's no "Add to collection".
- In a collection's add-docs dialog, I can tick docs and save, but there's no "Select all".
I'd like to work on this, starting with a small "Select all" in the add-docs dialog. I won't open a PR until a maintainer confirms the direction. Is that approach OK, or would you prefer the toolbar action instead?
