For peoples who want to participate but don't have the hardware. I was starting to write/vibe code a STFT analyzer in golang, this bass effect thing bring some motivation in but my coding abilities are not tremendous.

2A small JACK host could definitely be useful, especially for people who want to experiment without the hardware. Being able to plug the effects into a standard JACK setup and monitor or analyze them would lower the barrier quite a bit.
That said, I think it’s worth being careful about scope. A minimal JACK passthrough host that can load the effect and stream audio in/out makes sense. Once that exists, things like an STFT analyzer or other tooling can sit on top of it or be separate utilities.
If you already have a simple jack_passthru.c, that’s probably the right direction: keep it small, focused, and easy to build. If you turn that into a minimal, documented example (build instructions, how to connect it with jack_connect, etc.), it could be a good starting point for others to build analyzers or GUIs around.
Feel free to link the gists here, and if you want to move this forward, a small PR with a basic JACK host + docs would be the best next step.
I've just made two gist of jclient.h and jclient.c, plus, more idiomatic, jack_passthru.c.
