Environment: Madeira 0.1.3, iPad Pro M5 (iPad17,4), iPadOS 27.0.1.
Game: Project Zomboid, Steam 108600, 64-bit, Java + LWJGL (OpenGL).
Symptom: Launching through Steam fails with launch-client-error=22 (Steam's launch config is a .bat). Worked around by adding the game's own ProjectZomboid64.exe with -nosteam argument. Java starts (jvm.dll loads), main class MainScreenState starts, lwjgl.dll loads — but the game never creates a window: detach-wait presents=0 running=1 elapsed=120s.
Cause: Project Zomboid renders via OpenGL (LWJGL/GLFW/WGL). Madeira has no OpenGL → Metal bridge (only D3D9/10/11 via DXMT and D3D12 via madeira-d3d12). The game blocks on OpenGL context creation and never presents.
Request: an OpenGL → Metal path (wined3d-on-Metal or equivalent) so LWJGL/OpenGL games can create a context.
Activity
2The missing-bridge part now has code in main: 7ed32a9b retains the WGL/OpenGL ES/Zink routes and their build support. #476 completes the graphics build/package path.
Keeping this report open for an actual Project Zomboid launch and rendered frames on the rebuilt app. The launch-config/auth errors in #355 are a separate stage. A bridge in source is not proof that this Java/LWJGL game now runs.
