Screenshot selections on a delayed capture missed what the delay was meant to catch, because menus and tooltips closed as soon as the pointer was grabbed, and the translucent blue fill tinted the area being chosen. The screen is now frozen when the capture starts, the user selects the area or window on that still image, and the result is cut from the same pixels, as other screenshot tools do. The area marquee is a 1px black and white dashed outline without a fill, so it stays visible on any content.
